Planning Games for an Adult Birthday Party – Revised March 2020

Yep, he is turning 67 this year and we were throwing a party Sunday he may forever remember.  Or since he is turning senile, he may not remember anything.

Using Cisco and Skype technology, we will allow anyone to the virtual party.

As with kid’s parties, the selection of games to play is very important.

Case to Include the UCF (University of Central Florida) Football Team into the Final Four National Championship Playoffs

UCF is undefeated. Only four college football squads remain undefeated. If their North Carolina Tar Heels game was not cancelled because of a hurricane, UCF would be 11-0 also having soundly beaten a team from the Atlantic Coast Conference, that includes undefeated Clemson Tigers and other colleges that have upset higher ranked teams.

Not only would this outcome be righteous, but it would eliminate any controversy about allowing one team over another school with a similar record, which had lost one or two games this season, from being included into the four-team playoff. Why should one single-loss team be chosen over another? This would be an objective, not subjective committee decision.

How else could UCF prove it is on-par with the Notre Dames and Alabamas of the world unless there was an actual match-up on the field.

Another reason to select UCF is based not only on their unbeaten performance but also their outstanding defensive and offensive prowess. Could Clemson, Notre Dame, or Alabama hold back UCF’s potent offense?

Not only is undefeated UCF deserving of a crack at the playoffs, having the longest two-season winning streak, and they are an exciting team to watch. Their entertainment value is very high.

Selecting UCF this post-season would give over 200 colleges hope that in coming years that they too could play for the National Championship.

Honestly, using the same ol’ measuring sticks and computer-generated models, the committee has ‘sort of screwed up’ for the last two years.

  • In 2016, Ohio State was selected as the fourth team and they got smoked (shutout) in the first round.
  • No team from the Big Ten in 2017, like Ohio State, was chosen last year in favor (giving the appearance of SEC conference bias and favoritism) allowing two of the four teams to be from the very same conference in a tournament that is supposedly a NATIONAL Championship playoff.

(For God’s sake) Look at their statistics:

  1. UCF has a quarterback with a marvelous 161.9 rating. No professional quarterback has even achieved this very high rating over the course of ten and eleven games!
  2. McKenzie Milton has passed for 24 touchdowns and thrown only 5 interceptions during ten games! He has also run for 9 touchdowns on 74 carries for close to 300 yards. Keep in mind that quarterback sacks and kneel-downs behind the line of scrimmage figure into statistics of those 291 total yards gained by running.
  3. The UCF has a total of 31 rushing touchdowns this season; that is an average of three per game. They have an average of 5.8 yards per carry with 444 carries totaling 2,577 yards. Few college teams have rushed for more than 250 yards every game!
  4. UCF’s place-kicker has NOT missed an extra point all year long! Matthew Wright is 58 for 58 and has scored 88 points (8.8/game). His longest field goal was from 47 yards. Not even Notre Dame’s career record-breaking senior kicker  – Justin Yoon – cannot boast these kinds of accuracy statistics this season.
  5. Statistics and algorithms can lie. If the Selection Committee ignores objective selection criteria (simply wins and losses) they are going to make mistakes again and continually be open to both valid and irrational rounds of criticism.
  6. UCF’s passing offense is also very exciting. They have scored 25 touchdowns by the pass (that is 56 TDs in all). Very few college teams have averaged more than 5 touchdowns a game. They average 17.8 yards a pass play. In their first ten games, UCF has amassed 2,715 yards with 183 catches!

Three receivers have made more than 35 catches, four more players have more than 15 receptions this far, and as previously mentioned UCF’s turnover ratio is phenomenal.

Take note that this analysis and recommendation is coming from a 64 year-old lifetime college football fan that grew up in South Bend, graduated with two degrees from a Big Ten Conference school in Southern Indiana, and am a huge, huge Coach Jim Harbaugh (University of Michigan and former Stanford and San Fran 49er) fan.

Of course, I would root for Michigan to be chosen over another one-loss team (the Wolverines only lost to Notre Dame on-the-road by a touchdown) if there was not another deserving undefeated team.

Fact: UCF is Undefeated at 10-0

Come on man! Please NCAA Selection Committee (please) be more objective and allow the three-game national championship playoff scheme to crown an undisputed national event. Even the “March Madness” national basketball tournament gives smaller college programs a chance to win and succeed.

Occupy Northern California (The County of San Mateo Citizenry Revives All The Best of the Decade’s Occupy Movement)

OCCUPY COUNTY OF SAN MATEO [NORTHERN CALIFORNIA]

(WOODSIDE, CA ~ “The Dailey Sun-Chronicles” ~ November 5, 2015) –

Charlie Chan, Buck D.D., and Jimmy Crackcorn announced the beginning of the Occupy _______  movement throughout the San Francisco Peninsula today. In keeping with the neighborhood civic acumen(s), business climate and unchanging weather conditions, and current Facebook and Tesla social and corporate management theories, occupy camps will be moved weekly from one announced and government-permitted location to another. Some Occupy The San Francisco Peninsula camps change daily.

As the Sam Trans’ Route 295/296 bus arrived into Menlo Park (population 131 homeless, 3,880 canines, and no horses) at noon Wednesday, an organizer praised the contributions of 007 by providing professional transportation services to a community severely lacking good public transportation systems and safe female drivers of oversized sport utility motor vehicles (SUVs).

Editors’ Notes: “Buck” is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) who in 1986 purchased his 1st home in the 3200 block of Alameda de las Pulgas [unincorporated  Menlo Park, County of San Mateo California]. Although he is remains a public person he has largely been hiding as a “houseless American” since January 2007.  In 1992 “Buck” lost an U.S. congressional race [to the same congressperson Anna Eshoo who is still employed in D. C. ~ giving away high-compensation with health insurance and other employee benefits ~ American jobs locally via visas and green-cards] and in 1994 he tried to get more votes than popular Stanford Law Professor Tom Campbell in order to work in Sacramento to become a California State Senator for human rights and services. He spent over seven years at Lockheed working during the Cold War about seven years after graduation from Indiana University at Bloomington (A.B. ’76, M.S. ’78). Buck was illegally terminated last September by the United Parcel Service (UPS). After over 50 months of service between 2003 and 2008 as a California Department of Public Health and Health Services Health Facilities Evaluator, he was illegally terminated and narrowly lost his judicial appeal versus current State of California Attorney General Camilla Harris, who now insists on running for one of two seats in the United States Senate!

Buck is a publisher, author of Lessons Learned From Dogs [copyright 2011] and Confessions of An Oenophile ~ An American Family Cookbook of Comfort Food [copyright 2008], comedian and humorist, sports reporter and wagering handicapper, business administrator and environmental, health, security, and safety educator, and household engineer. Deer, California is the title of his first book about homelessness written from 2005 to 2014.

  • Take Responsibility if Accused of Vehicular Manslaughter
  • Be Reasonable with Demands on All Government and Quasi-Government Agencies
  • Let the County government work on more important issues that biking.
  • Teach Youth about the “Buddy System”
  • Let the California Highway Patrol (CHP) focus on higher priorities than soccer-mom driving.
  • Demand that local (i.e. City of Menlo Park) officials solve their internal problems.
  • Boycott free newspapers and their advertisers that do not practice ‘responsible journalism.’ Therefore, no fear-mongering, reduce sensationalism, write truthfully and factually, and promote good news.
  • Do not expect a public agency to solve woman problems, particularly if they are personal things.
  • Restore Sam Trans and improved Cal-Train train and bus services to your immediate community.
  • Plan to improve education, both public schools and private entities: A) At Home, B) In School, and C) During Every After-School Activity [i.e. Menlo Park Lyceum].
  • Find better means of energy consumption and public transportation. Sam Trans / Redi-Wheels Paratransit / Cal-Train are among the worst-managed quasi-governmental agencies in the USA.
  • Help the Bay Area Air Quality Management Board, the clean water agencies, and local zoning commissions revise improved public policies.
  • Blame Congressperson Anna Eshoo for what she has done in the United States Congress, as a hospital board member, and County of San Mateo Supervisor. If you re-elect her, you are now responsible and should be held accountable. FYI: In 1991, Eshoo was asked to put street lighting and traffic lights along Alameda de las Pulgas. She did nothing. Many were injured and some animals died a gruesome end.
  • Support elected officials like the current efforts of California Senator Jerry Hill who has represented the people of the County of San Mateo very well.
  • Work with the office of United States Senator Dianne Feinstein before, during, and after congressional hearings discussing the dreaded houseless populations in Northern California.
  • Improve health care; particularly the County of San Mateo Health System’s policies and daily protocols. People are needlessly suffering because health care professionals are following poorly-conceived and implemented procedures. Ask that the current county director resign and be quickly replaced.
  • Take issues in prayer to God, first. Then bother your priest, minister, social worker, and friends.
  • Utilize ‘The Brothers’ for issue resolution and decrease stressors on the court systems.
  • Make housing more affordable, safer, and livable!

Ulimatum for Minor Female Characters of the “Country Corner” Trilogy [TAKE NOTE: ‘Kathy Bates’ and ‘Debra Winger’ Characters]

This screenwriters’ hunger strike began today (Saturday, January 24, 2015) before 7:15 a.m. PST.

In addition, the screenwriter will never set foot in this store ever again, unless . . .

Therefore, these two bissyiness-meddling, “sexy”, gossiping, perhaps overweight, whatever-else, post-menopausal women MUST sell-out all their real estate ownings  – WITHIN 100 YARDS OF THIS BUSINESS –  AND leave this fine community that has probably the best deli, best wine selection, best three owners, best family-oriented business, best weather, best busy traffic, and best customers in the Americas.

Failure to do so will result in guilt, anguish, anxiety, danger, and many negative consequences (that largely will be self-inflicted). Yes, you Kathy. Yes, you Debra Winger character model icon to youth.
