Practical Anti-Covid 19 Ideas & Urgent Actions (methods most public health officials agree)

More than a Dozen Things (Northern California) June 30, 2020 – As seen on news channels, this flu season is worse than the dreaded H1N1 was in 2010. The U.S. survived.  2020 – ten years later – public health officials can agree on some preventative ideas. a) Coughing demands caution, b) Sleep – good sleep can build one’s resilience to sickness, c) Sneezing into a disposable tissue is best, d) Touching others with contaminated hands is a no-no. Be sure to was hands for at least 20 seconds with running clean water, e) Personal Hygiene is very important, f) Isolation of sick or vector people is critical, g) Medical care must be sought when symptoms first appear, h) Self-Care is now as important as ever, i) Think: Ready – Set- Go Planning and Action, j) Practice breathing techniques and exercise, k) Avoid harmful habits! l) Keep a positive attitude, and m) Think about others’ health and wellbeing (i.e. wear facial covering / masks).

Is 5G transmissions healthy?!? Probably not.

” Have you examined the correlation and cause-and-effect of Covid19 and 5G transmissions? ”

5G radiation impacts specific proteins in the lungs (MBL’s), that are involved with immunity response functions. 5G radiation doesn’t “cause” Covid19 per se, although it’s very possible that it does “effect” the severity of symptoms if exposed to the virus in those areas/populations that have also been long term exposed too 5G radiation?!

It would more accurate too say/write: “Have you considered that there is a very legitimate possibility due too statistical correlation & the additional evidence of previous scientific research, between the potential severity of Covid19 symptoms & the regional areas/populations where 5G radiation is present?!”

Credo offers Tips for Managing Social Distancing that turns into Social Isolation

Even if you haven’t heard it enough, we’re going to repeat it again: Stay at home. Practice social distancing. Flatten the curve.

But an unintended consequence of our efforts to slow a pandemic and keep our communities healthy is a real problem: loneliness and social isolation. As state and local governments issue quarantines and stay-at-home orders, many of us are living a new normal without in-person social interaction — and that can take a toll on our mental health.

bedbug

Do not get this bug. Not as deadly as a flu-bug, but bedbugs are a bitch!

Making matters worse, researchers have found that people who don’t feel connected to others over the long term are more likely to catch colds, experience depression and live shorter lives. One study even calculated the health risks of social isolation as equivalent to smoking 15 cigarettes a day. Even before the pandemic, loneliness was already widespread, with a national survey showing that more than 70 percent of young people and millenials and half of seniors felt lonely.

So how can we combat this new — hopefully short-term — reality of social distancing and isolation? Here are some tips to improve our health and stay connected.

Make a plan to connect with friends and family

Before the pandemic, many of us probably took for granted regular social interactions with our loved ones. Connecting could be more casual, and there were fewer concerns about meeting face-to-face. But with social distancing and sheltering orders, it’s become a lot more difficult, if not impossible and even unsafe.

Yet, simply saying you’ll stay in touch and actually connecting with loved ones, whether it’s over the phone, video or some other technology, are very different — and you may forget to find time. That’s why it can be so important to make a plan to connect with your friends and family to ensure you’re staying in touch to stave off loneliness. Just like in elections, where studies have shown that making a plan to vote increases the likelihood that you’ll show up to cast your ballot, be sure to make a regular plan to connect.

A great way to make your plan stick? Send a calendar invite. Here’s how to send a calendar invitation to multiple people on your iOS and Android devices to ensure everyone stays connected.

Plan a virtual happy hour

The coronavirus pandemic has spawned a new phenomenon: the rise of the virtual happy hour. People across the country have taken to FaceTime, Zoom, Google Hangouts and other platforms as a welcome way to share a drink (non-alcoholic drinks are always welcome!) with friends while we social distance.

There are many ways to enjoy your “quarantini.” The writers at Inc. suggest these tips to host your virtual happy hour:

  • Pick your video platform (Zoom, Google, Skype, etc)
  • Set a specific time for the event
  • Encourage your friends to bring a drink of their choosing
  • Make a plan for the conversation
  • If needed, gently guide the conversation

But watch out for “Zoom bombing”

Another phenomenon — and really unfortunate unintended consequence — of our new social distancing is the “Zoom Bomb.” As millions have shifted to working and learning from home, the popular video conferencing platform Zoom has become the go-to software for remote business, school and other activities.

The increased use of the platform has become a ripe target for hackers, who have exploited vulnerabilities in the software and taken over group video chats with hateful or obscene content. The FBI recently issued a warning that malicious actors could steal personal information over Zoom.

To prevent Zoom bombing, check out this article from PC Mag and some additional safety tips from the Anti-Defamation League.

Start or join a book club

Book clubs are cropping up everywhere during the coronavirus pandemic. Although many libraries have already closed, digital books are plentiful, so if you’re an avid reader (or not-so-avid, but want to become one), starting or joining a book club with your friends and family can be a great way to stay connected.

Not sure where to begin? Bustle has you covered with 10 tips on starting a digital book club.

Just want to join an existing book club? You’re in luck. Lots of virtual book clubs — each with unique themes and book choices — are welcoming new members across the globe. Here are ten suggested book clubs from Time. Or, you can join the “Quarantine Book Club” where you can chat directly with authors over Zoom.

Look out for those most at risk during this time

Even though we personally may feel isolated or lonely right now, there are others who may need our help, too. They are people in our community who could be suffering from mental health issues or chronic illnesses, our elderly neighbors who need basic necessities like groceries or medication or someone who is low-income or facing financial difficulties.

If you can, check on them and offer your assistance. They are feeling isolated and anxious too. They may not have internet access or family members who can assist. Here are some additional tips to help communities experiencing loneliness from AARP.

Thursday Evening Bulletin from the “CoronaBeer Dailey Controls” Viral Discussion Page

North America – March 12, 2020, 12:50 p.m. HST – MORE UNITED STATES GO ROGUE REGARDING THE COVID-19 ISSUES –

Now we are past the blame game. Of course the communist Chinese started this new flu virus and the executive branch of the U.S. government cannot seem to manage associated issues and contributing factors. As a result, state, local, school systems, universities, sports associations, and poor people are making bad decisions.

It now goes beyond panic and ignorance. Decisionmakers typically do NOT make good decisions when under pressure. After weeks of denial, then blame and anger, many impulsive decisions are being made forcing Americans into very unhappy and more unhealthy situations.

The Washington News published an excellent article Wednesday about this phenomenon.

All sorts of hotel chains, non-profit organizations, and other surprising sources are taking it upon themselves to publish policies and procedures given the lack of accurate and useful information coming directly from federal agencies chartered to take care of the interests of U.S. citizens and visitors. Now Disneyland is closed.

When is this craziness going to come to a halt?!?

Pres. T. is a Criminal

The Dailey Sun~Chronicles

Special Congressional Edition

February 5, 2020 – October 6, 2019 reprint

The White House is now worse than the singular drama of a Teapot Dome (1920s) or a Watergate (1970s).

All of this not ‘only’ amounts to an act of extortion by the president but turns hundreds of millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars into the payoff for a bribe designed to compel a foreign power (Ukraine) to attempt to criminalize a political rival.

From campaign finance, treason, violations of the Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution, to other high crimes and misdemeanors, [aside from ethics and international peace], here’s how the gun-loving, abuser of Executive Branch power D.J. Trump and homophobic, co-conspirator Vice President Pence Administration have run afoul of the American law and human values.

  1. Campaign Finance Violations
  2. Bribery
  3. Honest Services Fraud
  4. Extortion
  5. Witness Intimidation
  6. Obstructing Justice
  7. Conspiracy
  8. Profiteering / Emoluments are Unconstitutional

That makes at least 8 (eight) viable possibilities.

UNITED STATES SENATE JUROR CONVICTION

LIKELYHOOD (as of Monday, October 7, 2019) = 40/60

As Jeffrey Engel writes in Impeachment: An American History, the authors of the Constitution foresaw the possibility of a corrupt president who abuses his power to stay in office.

James Madison argued at the Constitutional Convention that it was “indispensable that some provision should be made for defending the community against the incapacity, negligence, or perfidy of the chief magistrate.” George Mason asked, “Shall the man who has practiced corruption and by that means procured his appointment in the first instance, be suffered to escape punishment, by repeating his guilt?” And as Gouverneur Morris concisely put it, “This Magistrate is not the King but the Prime Minister. The people are the King.”

FACT: In July, President Trump ordered his White House (Acting) Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney, to withhold $400 million in aid that Congress had designated for Ukraine. Last month, the inspector general of the intelligence community told the chair and ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, Democrat Adam Schiff and Republican Devin Nunes, that someone had filed an “urgent” and “credible” whistle-blower complaint.

Why Republicans aren’t turning on Trump, yet…

Some have even taken this moment to recognize Trump’s trademark boldness. “It’s classic Donald Trump,” The Wall Street Journal’s editor at large, Gerard Baker, crowed on Fox News yesterday regarding the president’s China gambit. “He doubles down.” Republican Senator Ron Johnson, who noted that he doesn’t “trust” China and would rather the Bidens be investigated domestically, nevertheless downplayed the president’s call with his Ukrainian counterpart as “Trump being Trump.”

Congressional Republicans such as Senators Cory Gardner, Lisa Murkowski, and Thom Tillis, who all expressed disgust several months ago about Trump’s openness to accepting compromising material about an opponent from foreign sources, have as of this writing not directly addressed the propriety of Trump’s call for China and Ukraine to scrutinize the Democratic front-runner in the race for the White House. (The Atlantic reached out to two dozen Republicans who sit on relevant foreign-affairs committees in the House and Senate regarding their reaction to Trump’s message yesterday and its national-security consequences. All either declined to comment or did not respond to the queries.)

Some Republicans have criticized Trump’s appeals to Ukraine and China, but for now they are the exceptions. The senator from Utah and former presidential candidate Mitt Romney said in a statement that the president’s actions were “wrong and appalling,” and that “when the only American citizen President Trump singles out for China’s investigation is his political opponent in the midst of the Democratic nomination process, it strains credulity to suggest that it is anything other than politically motivated.”*

The senator from Nebraska Ben Sasse told the Omaha World-Herald that “Americans don’t look to Chinese commies for the truth. If the Biden kid broke laws by selling his name to Beijing, that’s a matter for American courts, not communist tyrants running torture camps.” Will Hurd, a congressman from Texas who is not seeking reelection, told CNN that “a president of the United States shouldn’t be doing” what Trump did, adding that “we’re in a tight and complex trade negotiation with China now, and so you’re potentially giving them something to hold over your head.”

But for the most part, Trump’s no-holds-barred approach to politics now seems to hold sway within the Grand Old Party. Short-term calculations have eclipsed long-term considerations, such as how Republicans would feel if a Democratic president mimicked Trump’s actions to take down a GOP rival. What divides Americans (partisan politics) has overwhelmed what unites them (a commitment to democracy that, say, China doesn’t share).

FACT: The day after Congressman Schiff formally requested the whistleblower complaint, the Trump administration released the hundreds of millions of dollars it had been withholding.

At its most fundamental, what Trump questioned yesterday was who gets to have a say in how the American people choose their political leaders. He did so in a manner that would have alarmed the Founding Fathers and is largely without precedent in modern American history. (Perhaps the closest analogue is the Nixon campaign’s outreach to the South Vietnamese government to thwart efforts at ending the Vietnam War and boost his chances in the 1968 election. But even in that case Nixon was not directly involved in the scheme to the extent Trump has been in his.)

Over the past two weeks, the question at the heart of the Ukraine scandal has morphed from whether Trump pressured a foreign government to investigate and implicate his likely challenger for the presidency to whether doing so is right or wrong. The president, facing off against an opposing team, sought to recruit a third team watching from the sidelines to his side. When the whistle blew in response to the blatant infraction, Trump’s defiant response was to try to enlist yet another team and to declare that these are simply the new rules of the game. So far, most of his teammates have discarded the old rules and rallied behind their captain.

What are specific talking points for each ‘abuse of power?’

From the White House Press Secretary’s Office – Trump Administration

LESSONS LEARNED – – – Those who have served in the office have some common observations about White House.

a) Talk to Your Predecessors. Press secretaries indicated they learned a great deal from those who preceded them.

b) Don’t Reduce Reporters’ Opportunities or Venues for Receiving Information. You can add to what information reporters are given and opportunities there are to receive it, but you cannot subtract from it without paying a heavy cost.

c) 90% of Information You Are Dealing With Comes From the Press. While it is natural to think information one is dealing with in a White House is exclusively held, the contrary is true.

d) Don’t Hire People You Don’t Know.

e) An Inquisitive Press Corps Can Work in the Favor of the White House. While the White House spends a great deal of its energy trying to stop stories it does not like as well as redirecting reporters to stories they want covered, it can come to haunt a President and his staff.1

f) Don’t Sandbag the Press.

g) There Are Many Ways to Say ‘I Don’t Know’. All reporters really want is to be able to get the information they need and have it right when they get it.

h) Lying. Providing reporters with misinformation is a cardinal sin no matter whether it is willful or unintentional.

i) Be Wary of Adopting a Role of Persuader. The Press Office is the setting where official information is released not a place where persuasion is the central task.

j) Combining the Functions of Communications and/or Public Liaison with the Press Office. When the Press Office is combined with Communications is there is less control over Executive Branch information and less strategic planning done than is the case when the offices are independent units.

k) Personality Needs. A cool temperament works somewhat better than a hot tempered person.

Trump is “Gaslighting” American Voters – Can the USA Survive?!?

Recognizing 11 Warning Signs of Gaslighting [ source: Psychology Today ]

Gaslighting is a manipulation tactic used to gain power and maintain it… And it works too well, as President Donald J. Trump and his staff know.

Gaslighting is a tactic in which a person or entity, in order to gain more power, makes a victim question their reality. It works much better than you may think.

Anyone is susceptible to gaslighting, and it is a common technique of abusers, dictators, narcissists, and cult leaders. It is done slowly, so the victim doesn’t realize how much they’ve been brainwashed. For example, in the movie Gaslight (1944), a man manipulates his wife to the point where she thinks she is losing her mind.

In the book Gaslighting: Recognize Manipulative and Emotionally Abusive People – and Break Free, there is detail how “gaslighters” typically use the following techniques:

  1. They tell blatant lies.

You know it’s an outright lie. Yet they are telling you this lie with a straight face. Why are they so blatant? Because they’re setting up a precedent. Once they tell you a huge lie, you’re not sure if anything they say is true. Keeping you unsteady and off-kilter is the goal.

Newspapers have lost track of how many mistruths and outright lies the Trump Administration have spoken.

  1. They deny they ever said something, even though you have proof.

You know they said they would do something; you know you heard it. But they out and out deny it. It makes you start questioning your reality—maybe they never said that thing. And the more they do this, the more you question your reality and start accepting theirs. Blame is directed away from the gaslighter.

Nor will they take responsibility (i.e. terrorist activities motivated by the President’s angry speeches and comments to and about the press).

  1. They use what is near and dear to you as ammunition.

They know how important your kids are to you, and they know how important your identity is to you. So those may be one of the first things they attack. If you have kids, they tell you that you should not have had those children. They will tell you’d be a worthy person if only you didn’t have a long list of negative traits. They attack the foundation of your being.

  1. They wear you down over time.

This is one of the insidious things about gaslighting—it is done gradually, over time. A lie here, a lie there, a snide comment every so often…and then it starts ramping up. Even the brightest, most self-aware people can be sucked into gaslighting—it is that effective. It’s the “frog in the frying pan” analogy: The heat is turned up slowly, so the frog never realizes what’s happening to it.

Trump has been at it for almost two years in the presidency.

  1. Their actions do not match their words.

When dealing with a person or entity that gaslights, look at what they are doing rather than what they are saying. What they are saying means nothing; it is just talk. What they are doing is the issue.

  1. They throw in positive reinforcement to confuse you.

This person or entity that is cutting you down, telling you that you don’t have value, is now praising you for something you did. This adds an additional sense of uneasiness. You think, “Well maybe they aren’t so bad.” Yes, they are. This is a calculated attempt to keep you off-kilter—and again, to question your reality. Also look at what you were praised for; it is probably something that served the gaslighter.

Republicans act like the end justifies the means (getting to the end point; namely, getting votes).

  1. They know confusion weakens people.

Gaslighters know that people like having a sense of stability and normalcy. Their goal is to uproot this and make you constantly question everything. And humans’ natural tendency is to look to the person or entity that will help you feel more stable—and that happens to be the gaslighter.

The Republican Party is after votes.

  1. They project.

They are a drug user or a cheater, yet they are constantly accusing you of that. This is done so often that you start trying to defend yourself, and are distracted from the gaslighter’s own behavior.

Projection is a common psychological defense mechanism.

  1. They try to align people against you.

Gaslighters are masters at manipulating and finding the people they know will stand by them no matter what—and they use these people against you. They will make comments such as, “This person knows that you’re not right,” or “This person knows you’re useless too.” Keep in mind it does not mean that these people actually said these things. A gaslighter is a constant liar. When the gaslighter uses this tactic it makes you feel like you don’t know who to trust or turn to—and that leads you right back to the gaslighter. And that’s exactly what they want: Isolation gives them more control.

  1. They tell you or others that you are crazy.

This is one of the most effective tools of the gaslighter, because it’s dismissive. The gaslighter knows if they question your sanity, people will not believe you when you tell them the gaslighter is abusive or out-of-control. It’s a master technique.

  1. They tell you everyone else is a liar.

By telling you that everyone else (your family, the media) is a liar, it again makes you question your reality. You’ve never known someone with the audacity to do this, so they must be telling the truth, right? No. It’s a manipulation technique. It makes people turn to the gaslighter for the “correct” information—which isn’t correct information at all.

The more you are aware of these techniques, the quicker you can identify them and avoid falling into the gaslighter’s trap.

President Trump is remarkable in his implementation of these gaslighting techniques; justifying his actions.
